Plymouth Synagogue

Plymouth Synagogue was built in 1762, is the oldest synagogue built by Ashkenazi Jews in the English-speaking world. Architect’s name is not known and requires that the roof was designed and built by a local builder. The building is built of brick and stone painted white with a slate roof Cornwall. Plymouth Synagogue Council has a Hebrew prayer for the welfare of the royal family. Plymouth Council Prayer dating from 1762. Interior is simple. The building has a flat roof and a gallery of portraits of women along three walls.
