Since the inauguration of Tate Modern, Tate Britain gallery for space has been restored and extended, and both critics and the public were enthusiastic about the results. The collection exhibited here features five centuries of British art thematic or monographic following criteria. It goes from “Man with Hat” by John Bettes (1545) to more recent works of British artists, including Hockney is Davin’s sails, Francis Bacon, Lucien Freuud, Stanley Spencer and sculptures by Henry Moore and Jacob Epstein.
