Hampton Court Palace

Located 25 miles from London, on the left bank of the Thames, is considered the most beautiful and interesting English royal palace. Hampton Court was built between 1514 and 1520, as a private residence for Cardinal Wolsey, who then fell from grace because it gave King Henry XVIII divorce from Catherine of Aragon. He became the personal residence of the sovereign, and it seems as if time has stood still.
